IMCOM-Europe Cycling Challenge 2022 (muted)

Are you ready for the 2022 IMCOM-Europe Cycling Challenge? This is a great opportunity to stay healthy while seeing the amazing countryside of Germany and Europe on countless bike routes and paths. This event starts May 1 and ends September 9, offering participants 132 days of biking! Register before August 1 to receive a customized cycling jersey!

Bike and collect kilometers to earn the following awards:

  • 500 KMs -- Commemorative "Inner" Coin
  • 1,000 KMs -- Commemorative "Outer" Coin

You also have the opportunity to win one of the two Schwinn bikes by tagging your Instagram pictures with #IMCOMECC22.

The challenge begins May 1 and concludes September 9, 2022. Participants must submit kilometers in person at Hohenfels Outdoor Recreation before September 9 to receive a coin. To participate in this challenge, individuals must be authorized to use IMCOM-Europe Family and MWR facilities. Participants are required to track bike ride distances with a device. Contact Hohenfels Outdoor Recreation for device and app recommendations.

Participants must visit Hohenfels Outdoor Recreation to display documented rides which will be logged and accounted for by signatures of the customer and facility staff. Note, backdated kilometers completed before May 1 or date of registration are not permitted. For example, if you register on June 1, you can only report rides starting from this date.

All outdoor bicycles (traditional road, mountain, city/commuter and E-bikes) can be utilized during this challenge. Training apparatus kilometers will not be counted. This challenge is designed for adults. However, youth can participate but will receive an adult sized jersey.

Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. This includes verbal abuse of other participants and fellow riders, either in person or online and social media, as well as profanity, threats, unwelcome physical contact, actions that endanger others or the use of illegal drugs or alcohol prior to or during the rides. Violators will be disqualified from the challenge. Notification of any disqualification will be sent to Commanders of such individuals. Fraudulent reporting of mileage/kilometers biked will also result in an immediate removal from the program and the participant will not receive any of the tiered gifts.

By registering for this program, participants acknowledge cycling can potentially be a risky activity and accept full responsibility for their health, performance and equipment as well as group rides counting towards their cycling goals. Family and MWR Outdoor Recreation is not responsible for any injuries or damages occurred during participation in this cycling challenge. IMCOM HQ is providing two Schwinn mountain bikes for prize drawings. Participants must tag @armyodr and use #IMCOMECC22 on their Instagram accounts while participating in the challenge. All photos tagged between May 1 – June 29 will be eligible for the June 30 drawing only. Photos tagged between July 1 - August 30 will be eligible for the August 31 drawing only. Authorized MWR patrons age 18+ (see Army regulation, AR 215-1, chapter 7) are eligible to enter, with the exception of Army ODR MWR employees. Participants must be within Europe to be eligible. Participants will be required to fill out prize receipt forms.
