Snowshoe Hike in the Fichtelgebirge

The Schneeberg (Snow Mountain) in Fichtelgebirge north of Bayreuth tops out at an elevation more than 1,000 meters, and is an excellent location for enjoying the natural scenery and snowy landscape with the help of traditional snowshoes in the deep winter months. This moderately difficult snowshoe hike passes multiple towering granite rock formations, including the Rudolfstein and Drei Bruder, and continues toward the highest point in upper Bavaria, the Schneeberg. Please dress for the weather, wear waterproof and insulated footwear and bring along some hydrating liquids. Don’t forget your camera!
